Let’s start at the very beginning—content edition
How to write valuable content every time.

Hi, hi, Aelia here!
I’ve mostly contributed on martech and ops areas here at Not My Job, but today we’re going back to my roots, i.e., content.
Yep, yep, you read that right. My first job in my career was me, my trusty MS Word doc, and the non-AI internet against the world.
And this was where I met our content series guest—INM’s very own Meme Mistress Most Supreme, Midhat!

Why is my head so big? It’s full of secrets!
Here’s a short note from her!
Hey there!
I’m Midhat, and I have two things to say:
The Library of Alexandria actually asked travelers to turn in the books in their luggage so they could be checked against the library’s catalog and returned—or not.
Writing content can be fun, but even if it’s not so for you, this series is at least going to make it #$%^&* easy on ya!

And, ahem, here’s a small note from me:
If you notice the excessive use of em-dashes in this series and could be tempted to think, “oh it sounds AI-ish,”
NO.
it’s ME.
I’ve been googling-and-copy-pasting-em-dashes (like it was always meant to be) into my content for TWO DECADES, and you can take it away from my cold, dead, rotting fingers on the CTRL+V keys, thank you very much.
Anyway, Midhat and I started at the same content agency where we wrote 3k-4k words every. day.
On every topic imaginable.
For every content type—eBooks, blogs, webpages, presentations, social media posts, emails, entire courses, you name it.
We’ve done it all.
What that agency experience gave us in heaps (apart from burnout 😭) was how to write content.
Not just as a skill (which it certainly is), but as frameworks.
And while we didn’t have this name for it back then—it was taught to us just as “content formulas” or “guides and tips” to writing and perfecting content—frameworks they were.
And they helped us consistently whip out excellent quality content efficiently, on both good and bad days.
For founders, it might just be bad days whenever it’s time to write.
Whether it’s because:
it’s not the main job you love (duh), or
what you write does not seem to resonate with your audience, or
you do not know what’s wrong with what you’re writing, or
you’re taking help from AI to write for an ever-increasing AI-content-despising audience
And this is where we’re going to help you out.
With a collective experience of 20+ years in the industry, Midhat and I have tweaked our own frameworks that work for the marketing we do for our clients.
And we’re going to share this with you in full-issue guides!
Here’s a quick rundown on the upcoming issues in this series and what you can expect:
The basics: This is where we explain how founders can approach and plan for the big, scary content world, provide repeatable frameworks that can be used across any content type, and exhaustively detail how to write the content you need.
Using AI without using it to write your content: Founders often turn to AI to write content when they don’t have time, but the regurgitated slop is no one’s cup of tea. In this issue, we describe exactly how to use AI to your advantage (along with Midhat’s perfected AI prompt templates!), without wasting time, and without sounding like an automated voicemail.
Content repurposing: We’ve touched upon this subject sparsely in our newsletters, so this is the full step-by-step guide so you can repurpose your content every time knowing exactly what steps you need to take.
We’re so excited to get you all the content tools so instead of forcing yourself into writing, you have a specialized toolbox with a blueprint that helps you develop valuable content every single time!
See you in your inbox next week!
Cheers!
